It can be found on the A4 road national highway 19 mi (31km) east of Bath, 6 miles (10 km) east of Chippenham, and 13 mi (21km) west of Marlborough. Trowbridge, Wiltshire's county city, is located 15 miles (24 km), to the southwest. London lies 82 mi (132km) east. Calne was home to 17,274 people in the 2011 Census.
